favorite recordings proudly presents this new official reissue of arian: a rare and underrated disco album originally released in 1981 by pgp rtb label and fully recorded in new-york. arian kerliu was born in the small town of macedonia, dibra or debar. arian�s first recordings for a local radio stations were at the age of 14, appearing in almost every music festival in ex-yugoslavia. when he was 19, arian came to new york city, working different jobs and studying music. his first music engagements were in various clubs throughout the city, playing guitar and singing. he then met with james benjamin-fish, well known bass-guitar player, with whom he formed the band arian & funky family, mainly performing in the best clubs of nyc at that time. together, they came to an idea to record an album of their own. after travelling throughout the us, they got to know each other very well, and had connected with probably some of the best musicians you could find at that time. thus they had sinclair acey arranging three songs and hubert eaves, as a writer of -still together-, a beautiful ballad written in honor of his wife. by that time hubert had gained two grammy awards for stephanie mills� albums. kornelius cambell also wrote and composed two songs of the album, which sinclair acey arranged. the album also contains a great cover of �can�t say goodbye� by bobby caldwell, a song that arian and james had interpreted almost every night when touring. and all of this completed with the background vocals of tawatha agee (mtume), shevill alexander and sybil thomas (raw silk). arian & funky family band was then invited in yugoslavia for a european tour, including james, kornelius and stacey, but also others great musicians such as william -spaceman- patterson, zane mark, steve kroon, trevor gale, alex foster, or reggie marks, not forgetting flame braithwaite and meli sa morgan on background vocals. having the material of the 4 songs ready and finalized, the pgp rtb label from belgrade offered them to release an album, with the idea to also adapt the songs with lyrics from the famous croatian musician and writer mario mihaljevic. today, favorite recordings is deeply honored to bring this brilliant lp back to life. in order to insure the best sound quality, the original tracklist has been dispatched on a double vinyl version, which should please all djs and music collectors

dba s house leaning dubs series returns this time fronted by kemback and accompanied by dj bone remix under his differ-ent pseudonym. better known as kemback, geoff wright is a bristol-based producer, selector, violinist, teacher, and sound. his debut release on bristol mainstay futureboogie received widespread support from uk tastemakers including skream, mosca, and bonobo. he has also recorded on alfresco disco and omena records.

dark entries is proud to present a 4-song ep of songs by the italo disco duo of domenico ricchini and joe garrasco. domenico formed his first rock band in 1974, and four years later his first disco band. during the early 80 s he produced records under various names like delanua, bob salton and sylvi foster.

m&g was the duo of maurizio �sangy� sangineto and mirko galli from vicenza, italy. sangy began his music career in 1979 with italian disco group firefly and recorded a solo album steps in 1980. two years later he co-founded italo-disco band the creatures and synth-funk crossover act the armed gang. he met young dj mirko galli at l altro mondo studios in rimini.

tony more was the italo disco project of marzio benelli and andrea venturoli from firenze, italy. marzio specialized in sound engineering at various recording studios in milan throughout the early 1980s. he opened emme studio where we worked with major national and international artists. in 1984 he met andrea, a sound programmer who knew his way around analog synthesizers. their first collaboration was that same year on the song �computer sourire� for alexander robotnick debut album. in 1985 the duo recorded �tonight�, the debut single for the vocalist tony more that was released the same year on sensation records.

for its eleventh release italian label what ever not, founded by dodi palese and dan mela, crosses the world to catch up with japanese producer keita sano for a release of singular, no specific style. the contributions debt to disco, house and techno, all of which boast an old school sprint making one move from the inside. the four-track pack melts afro funk contaminations with scented, crunchy and deeply varied patterns, sampled vocal elements and looping melodies.

paul hester created his cult moon music label in 1997 as a portal for his own productions and sounds. the label was short-lived, with only 3 releases in it s catalogue, all produced by hester himself. those few releases on moon are now highly sought after among house and techno aficionados who are forever seeking that deeper groove. the interesting part of this story, beyond the amazing music that was released, is that there are many other tracks that never saw the light of the day, thus leaving the full moon story untold. the electric wig ep was the first release on the label and is here in fully remastered reissue form, with all racks lovingly transferred from paul hester s private, personal dat stash. classic, deep uk techno sounds from the pre-millenium era, re-presented for the first time for 2017 s dancefloors. across these 2 tracks and 2 lock grooves we are treated to a sound that is timeless and will undoubtedly gain paul hester new fans while reminding those of us who were there in the late 90 s about his subtle and uniquely fresh production style.

next up on hell yeah is -the most balearic record i have ever released- according to label boss & it comes from japan s disco don max essa which features a four part track, themes from the hood, the cad, & the lovely, on one side of vinyl, and two more on the flip. essa was born matthew bruce and the uk artist has now been releasing his blissed out beats on labels like feel music, electric minds, bear funk and is it balearic? recording for a decade. a prolific producer whose big hits like panorama suite/uptown vibration (is it balearic?) from 2010 have long been in the hell yeah boss s record bag, essa first approached the label with a bunch of tracks. a good correspondence alchemy ensued and together the artist and label decided to put out the most timeless 12inch possible. the exquisitely ambitious themes from the hood, the cad, & the lovely is almost 12 minutes of serene ambient synth work that is like a soundtrack to a hot summer s day. heavenly chords sound just like a breathy female vocal and as they come and go, one finger piano tinkles add real emotional beauty and gentle twinkles shimmer in the distance. half way through lazy drums propel things along at a loveably lethargic pace and immediately place you on the beach. on the flip, saguaro is just as organic and beautiful, but has tumbling drums, wooden hits and soft claps as well as essa s magical synth work all bathing your soul in warm rays. b2 buran chime is perfectly horizontal and expansive, with tinkling triangles, angelic chords and scattered hits and harpsichord sounds all radiating effusively. this is timeless music that will calm busy minds now and forever.

released in 1983, guy cuevas 12inch single -obsession- is probably one of the best french disco-boogie records, enriched by jean-paul goude s artwork for the cover. the a-sides nassau mix by fran?ois k is a sensual and airy journey, while the b-side s london mix offers a more realistic approach that will please the more classic-listening disco enthusiasts. huge tip!!

artist susana estrada was one of the leading figures of the �destape� during the late 70s and early 80s, a period in spain when sexual openness and freedom of thought exploded just when the country was coming out of a dictatorship. . besides acting in lot of movies and musical plays, susana as a singer also released a few 45s, cassettes and one lp, �amor y libertad�, produced by the great josep llobell, which is now regarded as a cosmic disco classic. from that album, cosmic record store selected two tracks for side a of this 12�, �gózame ya� and �quítate el sostén�. for the b side, the label has included three edits in a nu-disco & cosmic vein by producers james rod, javi frías and mr. absolut aka sergio peña.
